Frequently Asked Questions

Is Apex Whole House Painting Licensed and Insured?

Yes! Our Home Improvement Contractor ID is PA194069. AWH Painting is fully insured at $2,000,000 of general liability coverage (that’s 40x the state minimum limit).

What should I expect when considering Apex Whole House Painting for my project?

AWH Painting has established a seamless process in our approach to completing your project effectively and efficiently. From the initial conversation about the project to the final cleanup, the following is how we handle most projects:

1) initial contact – This normally comes in the form of a phone call, text, or email exchange. The primary goals are to understand basic project details, desired timeline, and any other client priorities.

2) estimate – A walkthrough of all spaces to be painted allows us to collect exact measurements, take pictures, and assess other details that impact project costs and timeline.

3) proposal / agreement – We do not hold project dates until a signed contract has been returned to us. If the estimate is acceptable, we convert it into a more formal proposal that includes additional information related to the project such as client & contractor responsibilities, contract conditions, and payment terms. Projects are scheduled on a first come (first to return completed contract), first served basis.

4) project prep – Prep work is exceedingly important, as the surfaces must be clean, smooth, and imperfection free in order to achieve a flawless finish. This typically involves cleaning, patching, sanding, spot priming, and similar techniques needed to restore surfaces to their optimal condition.

5) painting – While some surfaces only require a single coat, most will receive two coats to ensure even coverage and color consistency. AWH Painting uses tape and masking to protect unpainted surfaces and a combination of brushes, rollers, and sprayers to apply paint to various surfaces.

6) client walkthrough – Before we close out a project, we walk our client through each workspace to ensure they’re satisfied with the outcome. The end of a project also involves a complete cleanup and resetting all furniture, decor, etc in each space back to its original position as desired by the client.

Can AWH Painting help me choose colors for my project?

We understand that it can be stressful to choose colors, especially if you are planning a major transformation for your project. Luckily, as a Sherwin Williams contractor, we are able to offer our clients a FREE color consultation with a Sherwin Williams design expert. This complementary service helps ensure you love the finished product!

What type of paint does AWH Painting use?

We prefer using Sherwin Williams products but we are open to considering other options. During your estimate, we will provide a printed recommended product list. Often, you will have a couple of price point options, but for some specific applications/materials the options may be more limited.

Do I need to be home during the estimate?

We do require the homeowner be present during the estimate so that we are able to ask/answer questions to ensure we understand the scope of work and prepare an estimate with the level of detail that meets your expectations. Estimates normally take less than 30 minutes to complete.

Does AWH Painting provide free, no obligation estimates?

All estimates are totally free with absolutely no strings attached. We hope that you will see the value in choosing Apex Whole House Painting for your project, but we certainly understand that we can’t win them all. There is no pressure, and no hard feelings!

How many years of experience do you have?

Apex Whole House Painting’s owner, Andrew, is present on every job site. Andrew has over 15 years of experience in painting and general home improvements.

Do you hire subcontractors?

No, the only painters involved in your project are employees of Apex Whole House Painting. Andrew is both the company owner and primary painter. He is regularly present (often completing projects entirely on this own) at every job site.

Who will be managing my project?

From initial contact to project completion, you will have the undivided attention of Andrew (AWH Painting owner and primary painter). This prevents project inefficiencies and ensure key details like budgets, timelines, outcomes always exceed your expectations.

Do we have to close our business during the painting project?

To avoid disruption to your business operations, we’re able to work after work hours, nights and weekends. If the building being painted is a business office, we can complete sections one at a time and do the project in phases to minimize disruption while your employees carry on with daily tasks.

Do you require a deposit or down payment?

No, we do not collect any funds in advance of your project start date.
